Fine Arts Fiesta Starts Tomorrow

The 55th annual Fine Arts Fiesta gets started tomorrow in downtown Wilkes-Barre. Thursday through Sunday, the Fine Arts Fiesta will feature works by local student and adult artists; live musical performances by area school groups, professional acts and strolling musicians; and an artist market.

The Fine Arts Fiesta, the oldest festival of its kind in the state, gets started tomorrow at 10 a.m. with performances by the Wyoming Valley West Chorus and Orchestra, prior to the opening ceremonies at noon.

Feature performances each night will include members of K.I.S.S. (Kids Innovating Sound and Stage) on Thursday, May 20, at 8:30 p.m.; The George Wesley Band on Friday, May 21, at 7:30 p.m.; Parrot Beach, a Jimmy Buffet tribute band, on Saturday, May 22, at 8 p.m.; and The Poets on Sunday, May 23, at 5 p.m. This year the Friend of the Arts Award will be presented to the Osterhout Public Library and the Friends of The Osterhout Library.
