Google has made an interesting proposition to cities across the United States – the company will provide ultra-high speed fiber networks in trial cities as part of the project Google Fiber.

A movement is underway to bring Google Fiber to Scranton, the Electric City, that organizers have called The Fiber City. The Fiber City has launched a website, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube pages, in the hopes that, the more popular support they can show, the more attractive Scranton will look to Google.

As part of Google Fiber, Google would build and test ultra-high speed broadband networks delivering, at a competitive price, Internet speeds more than 100 times faster than what most Americans have access to today through fiber-to-the-home connections.

Other cities across the nation have begun to make their push for the service so support the Fiber City today and bring Google Fiber to Scranton.
