Coming Soon…Scranton’s Vintage Theater
Featured — By nmilner on December 15, 2008 at 11:44 amA new multimedia art space is coming to the Scranton area in January. The Vintage Theater, 222 Wyoming Ave., will feature weekly screenings of classic films, while also regularly hosting music, poetry, stage productions and more.
Events planned at The Vintage Theater in January include:
- January 3, CD release show for So Long Pluto from 6:30-10:30 p.m.
- January 4, three local bands – Empty Cases, Tearable and Satellite – performing from 5-8 p.m.
- January 9, Steamtown Improv at 7 p.m.
- January 10, Vintage Nintendo Tournament – Super Smash Brothers on the N64 – at 6 p.m.
- January 11, Clarks Summit band Munster from 5-8 p.m.
The official grand opening of the theater is set for Jan. 16-18. The Vintage Theater will screen Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Thirty-Nine Steps” on Friday at 7 p.m.; Saturday at 3 and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m.
