There’s no shortage of great New Year’s Eve parties going on around Northeastern Pennsylvania tonight, beginning, of course, with First Night in downtown Scranton; but here are a few other spots to ring in 2009.

The Colosseum Nightclub, 120 Adams Ave., Scranton, will host an all-inclusive New Year’s Eve celebration with hot and cold buffet from Bari’s Pork Shop in Brooklyn, N.Y.; appetizers; complimentary drinks (for $40 cover) and Coors Lite bottles; champagne toast at midnight; and hats and noisemakers.

The New Year’s Eve celebration at the Woodlands Resort, 1073 Highway 315, Wilkes-Barre, begins at 8 p.m. with four parties in one.

The Picture Perfect Band will perform in the Grand Ballroom along with DJ Godfather, while in Evolution Nightclub, DJ Kev the Rev and DJ Red Bull Ron play all the best of Top 40 and club music. The Cash Bar in Streamside Bandstand will feature DJ Danny Hughes playing the best of the ‘70s, ‘80s and ‘90s; and at the Cash Bar in Whispers Lounge, DJ Slimm Jim will playing smooth house grooves, mash-ups and club remixes.

The Woodlands party will include premium brand drinks, hot and cold buffet and a champagne toast at midnight.

Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Martini Grill and Lounge, 414 Spruce St., Scranton, with no cover before 10 p.m., as well as food, party hats, noisemakers and a champagne toast at midnight. The party starts at 8 p.m. with a DJ playing the best of the ‘80s, ‘90s and top 40.

However you choose to celebrate this New Year’s Eve, have fun, stay safe and we’ll see you back here in 2009.
