The last First Friday of 2008 is shaping up to be a great one with 24 venues around Downtown Scranton hosting exhibits on Friday, Dec. 5, between 6-9 p.m.

It’s been an excellent year for First Friday Scranton with bigger and better events each month and increasing numbers of participants. So come out and check out the works of talented local artists and do some holiday shopping to show your support of the Scranton businesses that make First Friday possible.

B’s Floral Design, Inc., 131 Penn Ave., will feature live music by Coleman Smith Swing Trio. Dionysus Downtown, 244 Penn Ave., will host a unique display of holiday rock record covers. Billy Rogan will perform at Northern Light Espresso Bar, 536 Spruce St., where the “Beneath the Global Textures of Life” photography exhibit will also continue.

In addition to the art and music on display, be sure to look for the 2008 Holiday Window Showcase in the windows of Scranton Business Alliance businesses around downtown. And keep an eye out for the new Friends of First Friday discount card, which allows you to support First Friday Scranton and receive a 10% savings at participating downtown businesses.
