Rails-To-Trails Long Distance Run
Events — By nmilner on August 21, 2008 at 11:19 amGet yourself ready for the Steamtown Marathon and benefit a good cause with the D&H Rail-Trail Long Distance Run on Sunday, September 7. The run gets started at 9 a.m. and leaves from the Forest City Trailhead of the D&H Rail-Trail.
This 13.1-mile, out-and-back race covers the Forest City to Union Dale section of the D&H Rail-Trail and will benefit the resurfacing of the next 10 miles of trail from Herrick Center to Thompson.
Runners and walkers are invited to participate; awards will be presented in age-group categories. Registration is required. Volunteers are also needed to help organize the event. Call the Rail-Trail Council of NEPA at 570-785-7245 for more information or to volunteer.
