Scranton kicks off Concerts on the Square

Lackawanna County Concerts on the Square, a series of weekly live concerts planned throughout the summer, kicked off today with a performance by John “Guido” Phillips at the Piazza dell’Arte, Courthouse Square, downtown Scranton.
The concerts will feature a lineup of some of the area’s finest musical talent performing in a wide variety of styles. The shows will all be held on Courthouse Square, Scranton, from noon to 1 p.m. In case of rain, the concert will be rescheduled for the following Wednesday at the same time.
The schedule for the rest of the summer is:
June 13: The Charles Havira Duo
June 20: The Doug Smith Jazz Quintet
June 27: The Wanabees with Mark Montella
July 2: Cuban Tres
July 11: Kid Icarus
July 18: The Fortunes
July 25: Dealer in Wares
Aug. 1: Jugdish
Aug. 8: The Orner Brothers
Aug. 15: And the Moneynotes
Aug. 22: Jim Cullen
Aug. 29: The Bill Arnold Band
