GreenSpace Properties, LLC closer to bringing coveted urban living to Scranton

Chalk one up for the free market economy in Scranton. GreenSpace Properties LLC was the high bidder for the former East Intermediate School in the Hill Section. Cliff Melberger of Diversified Information Technologies fame and Paul Mansour of The Carlisle Group were the two highest bidders. Melberger’s company GreenSpace Properties is planning 35 studio and loft-style apartments with a fitness center, wifi, and all of the other bells and whistles just blocks from the downtown, all of the local hospitals, and the temporary headquarters of the new medical school.

Only one short year ago this property was going to be sold for $169,000 less and utilized as a community center. Hats off to the Scranton School Board for getting more money for the taxpayers, adding this building to the tax rolls, and drawing more residents to the city. Anytime Mansour and Melberger are competing for an investment opportunity in Scranton, we win.
