Not all of us have the chance to go to New Orleans to experience the true spirit and festivities of Mardi Gras. So why not celebrate the tradition close to home where you won’t spend a fortune and you don’t have to jump on a plane? So come and experience Mardi Gras – Scranton style! And for only $50, you can attend Mardi Gras right here in Scranton AND support a GREAT cause!

United Neighborhood Centers of Northeastern Pennsylvania is hosting its 8th Annual Mardi Gras Celebration on February 1, 2008 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel. All of the proceeds from Mardi Gras directly support UNC’s Angel’s Attic – the community food and clothing bank for the needy.

What more can you want than music provided by the infamous Marko Marcinko with a tweak – including the “Mardi Gras Jazz Band,” traditional food, masks and beads, silent auctions and basket raffles, grand-prize vacation at Caesars Pocono Resorts, dancing the night away, gambling tables and fortune tellers?

You can’t! So come and join in the Mardi Gras festivities on February 1, 2008. Celebrate Mardi Gras – Scranton style. For tickets call UNC at (570) 346-0759.

I encourage everyone to attend this event for a great cause but it was also a great time last year with the table games and should be even better this year @ The Radisson.

I read similar article also named Mardi Gras is Coming to Scranton, and it was completely different. Personally, I agree with you more, because this article makes a little bit more sense for me
