Fiesta En Scranton

Come celebrate our area’s diversity at Fiesta En Scranton 2006 on Saturday, April 29, from 1-9 p.m. at the Riverfront Sports Complex, across from the Scranton High School.

Fiesta En Scranton is a celebration of Hispanic culture featuring live music, traditional food, games, dancing and sports. Admission is free and there will be activities for all ages.

Latin and American food, as well as virgin margaritas and daiquiris, will be on sale all day and DJ Mike Walton will provide Latin music. Non-profit and cultural booths will be on display throughout the event. Beer, daiquiris and margaritas will be sold during happy hour from 5-7 p.m.

Entertainment will include Game Show Mania from 2-4 p.m., Cuban singers “Angels on Earth” at 4 p.m., a mariachi band from 5-7 p.m. and Latin dancing from 7-9 p.m.

At 1 and 3 p.m. there will be adult soccer exhibitions followed by the championship game at 5 p.m. Kids’ soccer demonstrations are scheduled for 2 and 4 p.m.

The event is coordinated by Hispanic Resources Network, Marywood University, POWER!, Realtec, Volunteers for Literacy and Times-Shamrock Communications.
