Northeast Theatre presents ‘The Woman in Black’

The Northeast Theatre will open “The Woman in Black” – the first production at its new location in the Hotel Jermyn – with previews on Wednesday, Sept. 21, and Thursday, Sept. 22, at 7 p.m. The show’s official opening night is Sept. 23 at 8 p.m. and it will play on Thursdays at 7 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 3 p.m. through Oct. 9.

“The Woman in Black” is a ghost play a ghost play adapted by Stephen Mallatratt from the book by Susan Hill. It played for 15 years on London’s West End. The play tells the story of a young man’s encounter with phenomenon he can only vaguely explain. It is a play of tremendous suspense and surprise that leaves the audience wondering exactly what is real and what is not. The cast features Scranton actor, Conor McGuigan, and New York actor Duane Noch.

The Northeast Theatre is located in the Hotel Jermyn at the corner of Wyoming and Spruce streets in downtown Scranton. The theatre is handicap accessible. Preview tickets are $10 (students half price); during the regular run, tickets are $20 general, $15 senior (60 or over), and $5 student.
